An island of pebble beach gardens, warm turquoise waters, volcanic landscapes and citrus scented fruits and spices. Sicily is the perfect epitome of the Italian saying: Dolce Far Niente.
Muse Marianne Roussety @mroussety took us, together with her partner Ben Rayner @raynjermain on a visual trip around the Sicilian island, sharing their favourite spots and captures of the island’s raw beauty.
Where to go on Sicily?
We went to Scopello, Zingaro Natural Reserve and Cefalu and we absolutely loved all three places.
Where to stay on the island?
We stayed in a cute antique stone house overlooking the sea and mountains, just out of Scopello and it was so special. We stayed in a little apartment in Cefalu in the town centre which was so good as we could walk everywhere!
The ideal local dinner?
We had a few amazing dinners in the plazza in Scopello, yummy pastas and beautiful local food.
The perfect swim spot?
Cala Dell’Uzzo, the water is so clear there.
Favourite spot to photograph?
We fell in love with Zingaro Natural Reserve, we took sooo many photos there because everywhere was just magic.
Your most memorable moment on the island?
Doing the hike in Zingaro Reserve. It was honestly the most amazing walk we’ve ever done. The coastline is so raw and the beaches are stunning.
